Fridays 5:30-7:30pm
Attend class each week to learn new and exciting music and choreography.  As we cast the show, blocking and staging will be taught to put the entire show together.
Auditions??
Everyone is invited!  Have a role you'd give anything to play?  Let us know and we may be able to include it!  Don't worry if you didn't make it to auditions!  It's not too late.

Let's start by saying that every student that will be given several ensemble parts.  We believe in the power of Musical Theatre and the ability it has to change a person's life.  No one should be denied that opportunity!  Depending on when you enroll in the class, a larger role may be attainable.

Kids should spend time at home practicing!  But not for perfection....for comfort.  And for those too timid to speak out....no problem!  We are here to guide them through the process.
Classes Begin
The first class is crucial!  FRI August 28, 2026.

During these classes, students will learn blocking, music, and choreography each week.  Kids are encouraged to practice at home so that we may add on each week.
Performance
There will be one tech rehearsal on Friday, January 8.  This is a requirement for all participants.
Class Dress Code
There is no dress code!  We recommend shorts/pants and ponytails so kids can move freely as well as sneakers or barefeet, NOT croks or flip-flops.
Costumes
Costumes will be on a "We provide/You Provide" basis.
You will always provide any tights, shoes, or one-time items.  We will provide as many costume pieces as possible.  And don't worry....we have TONS of costumes in our closets!

ABOUT US

A lifelong thespian, Miss Wendi began her theatre career with the Islip Pro Arts of Long Island at the tender age of 6, just two years after starting dance classes.  Each year at least 2 shows, from Playhouses to Community Theatre and High School performances.  As a kid, she dreamed of a career on stage, but life had amazing, alternate plans for her.

Miss Wendi has been working with kids ages 2+ for 33 years and counting through Dance, Cheer, Art, and Musical Theatre.  She opened GCAPA in 2011 as a performing arts studio with the hopes of expanding from Dance to Musical Theatre, Art, and Music someday.

That day has come.
Someday is now.

Known for her creative story telling and ambitious costumes and sets, Miss Wendi is thrilled to bring the first Musical to Grand Central Academy of Performing Arts this year!  And Huntersville is in need of a great Musical Theatre program!

If you or someone you know might be interested in being a part of the amazing team that Miss Wendi has cultivated, we welcome your imagination, creativity, and outside-the-box thinking!  Email us at info@gcapa.net to set up a chat and we'll take it from there as we expand into ALL of the performing arts!
